Skill Development Program on Advanced Training On Analytical Techniques And Laboratory (4th - 8th February 2019)

 

A 5 days Intensive Training Program on the ADVANCED TRAINING ON ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES AND LABORATORY METHODs (ATL-1) CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar

Under CSIR Integrated Skill Initiative Program, Department of Hydro and Electrometallurgy, CSIR-IMMT Bhubaneswar is organizing a five days Training Program on the ADVANCED TRAINING ON ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES, LABORATORY METHODS  (ATL-1) from 04th to 8th Feb 2019. Total 23 participants from all over India with a background of Chemistry, Physics or environmental science, are attending this training. Resource persons from the CSIR-IMMT, NIT Rourkela, Utkal University and other sister laboratories of IMMT will deliver lectures and participate in the deliberations. About eight sessions are scheduled in which participants will get hands-on training experience of different analytical instruments. Visits of different labs in CSIR-IMMT are also a part of this program. In the inaugural session Er Santosh Ku Mishra, the Chief Scientist welcomed the participants and encouraged them to take maximum benefit of the course. He also thanked all the members who have taken the responsibility of conducting ATL-1 programs. Dr.S.K. Pradhan, the Skill development program coordinator, gave an introduction on the course to the guests and the participants and mentioned the various guidelines of Scientific development. Dr. Mamata Mohapatra, the Senior scientist, introduced about the topics and objective which will be covered during the course. She elaborated about the course to provide an insight into the theoretical and practical knowledge needed for the laboratory method of analysis on ores/minerals and their derivative products using modern analytical instruments. She also highlighted, how to improve and enhance skills in handling modern analytical instruments and the hydrometallurgical operations.

The resource persons will take the training sessions for five days in which the participants will learn the skills and methodologies of analyzing the samples using different analytical equipments like UV, AAS, ICP, XRD, TG-DTA, and electroanalytical techniques.
