Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 1st November, 2014.

Like previous years, this year also CSIR-IMMT observed Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 1st November, 2014. Observance of the week began with display of prominently written banners at important locations in the Institute premises.

Shri P.S.R. Reddy, Scientist-in-Charge of the Institute administered pledge to all the Staff-members on 27th October, 2014 at 11.00 A.M. On this occasion messages from the Hon’ble President and Prime Minister were also read out to the staff-members by our Scientist-in-Charge(Admn), Shri Santosh Kumar Mishra.

Various other events were organized throughout the week. Debate competitions among +2 Students from different Schools/Jr. Colleges and staff-members/fellows were organized on 28th & 29th October respectively. The topic of the debate for students was,

Besides the above, a few lectures on “Healthy Institutional Practices” were also organized during the week.Shri Jagadananda, Social Activist and Civil Society Leader, Presently leads the Centre for Youth and Social Development (CYSD), an autonomous development organization working with the tribal and rural poor in Odisha, gave lecture on the role of an active citizen to realize the goal of people-centered equitable development on 29th October. He emphasized all of us can play an important role in the development process if we become active citizen.

Shri P.K. Ray, Controller of Administration delivered a lecture on "Acts & Rules relating to filing of revised returns on Assets and Liabilities by Public Servants" on 30th October, 2014. The talk was very much informative and relevant in the wake of the new Lokpal Act. In his talk he touched upon all aspects of the new Act highlighting provisions applicable to Govt. servants.

Valedictory & Prize Distribution Function was organized on 31st October, 2014. Prof B.K. Mishra, Director, CSIR-IMMT, Bhubaneswar presided over the meeting and shared his views with the audience urging upon the scientists to think to find ways and means to eradicate the kind of ill feeling. Shri Santosh Kumar Mishra, Chairman, Vigilance Awareness Committee and Mr. P.K. Ray, Controller of Administration also addressed the audience. Mr. Ray focused on “behavioural aspects of human”. Prizes were distributed to the winners of debate competition by the Director, Prof. B.K. Mishra. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Shri Ramakanta Dash, Section Officer-E.I.
